After 9 years. Please help me save Asia Bibi’s life.

This email is extraordinarily urgent. It may be the most important email I have written to you in the past few years. Please read the latest message we received from Asia Bibi’s family:
“I apologize for the late reply. It is due to the bad situation in which we are finding ourselves. I beg you to do something urgently so that we can flee to Spain. By urgent I mean in a day or two. If at all possible, please help.”
15 hours have passed since we received this. The situation is extremely dangerous. The streets of Pakistan are overrun with people calling for Asia Bibi’s immediate death. There are tumultuous rallies, where armed protestors are holding up signs calling for Asia Bibi to be hanged. The police can barely contain those who are shouting for vengeance against Asia Bibi and the three judges who acquitted her.
In order to save Asia Bibi’s life and bring her to Spain (or any other country she wishes), we are facing two big problems:
- It is a bank holiday weekend, and many administrative processes are not going to start back up again until next week. This is something we are really nervous about, as there is very real sense of incapacity.
- We are lacking financial means. Apart from the sum we already sent to the family to cover their legal costs, we just sent 10,000 euros to help pay for preparations for Asia Bibi’s release and her immediate relocation outside of Pakistan.
But there are more payments that need to be made:
- The flights from Pakistan to Europe for Asia Bibi and the 10 people who need to urgently leave the country with her: her family and those who protect it.
- Security, bodyguards, etc, in both Pakistan and Europe.
- A secure place where they can live in Spain, or any other country where they wish to reside.
- Legal advice to ensure they are granted political asylum.
For this reason, I am writing to you urgently. I am living in fear for Asia Bibi and her family.
I need to ask you to please make the biggest contribution that you are able to afford at this time, so that together we can provide the necessary funds to save Asia Bibi’s life:

48 hours ago, Asia Bibi’s family sent us the following message:
Pakistani Muslims are enraged about the acquittal. The situation is really bad, which is why we must urgently act now. Asia is still in her cell, and as far as we understand, she is safe there until we come up with an exit plan for her. Until we have a plan for her to leave Pakistan, Asia Bibi will be safe in prison.“
Thank you for your support and, as you know, she would prefer to go to Spain. This country will always be our first choice.
These are the steps we are taking to save Asia Bibi’s life and bring her to Spain, or wherever she wishes to go:
- Asia Bibi doesn’t have a passport, and without it she cannot leave Pakistan. We are helping her family get a passport for her as soon as possible.
- We are working with the Spanish embassy in Pakistan to urgently expedite visas that will allow Asia Bibi and her family to enter Spain. This is the fastest way to get her into the country. Later, we will work on a petition for asylum.
- We are in talks with the Spanish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, explaining the situation and asking for assistance.
- We are talking to private security companies.
- Finally, we are talking with airlines and pilots of private air companies.
To do all of this, we need resources. We need funds that we currently don’t have. And, of course, we cannot look the other way and abandon Asia Bibi and her family.

In the next few days, I should have more information about Asia Bibi’s situation. I will send you images of what is happening in Lahore, where her family lives, and in Multan, the location of her prison, so that you can see for yourself how dangerous the situation is.
